PhD defense of Oussama Sentissi

We are pleased to announce the PhD defense of Oussama Sentissi on Friday, December 7. His work, entitled  Étude du mouvement Brownien sous champ de force externe et diffusion anormales (Study of brownian motion under an external force field and anomalous diffusion), has been performed under the supervision of Dr. Genet. The defense will take place in the Salle de Conférence of ISIS, at 2pm.

A pot de thèse will follow at the 6th floor of ISIS (Espace Vasconi).

Mini-symposium and phD defenses on 14th and 15th of September

We are pleased to announce for next week a mini-symposium on light-matter strong coupling with three seminars given by members of the phD jurys of Hadi Bahsoun and Thibault Chervy : Prof. Jaime Gomez Rivas, Prof. Angel Rubio and Prof. Atac Imamoglu.

This mini-symposium will take place in the conference room of ISIS, on Friday 15th of September from 9pm. For the detailed program, see here below :

The day before, on Thursday 14th at 2pm, Hadi Bahsoun will defend his PhD thesis entitled Strong Coupling of Electronic Transitions of Molecular Materials in the Liquid Phase

Then on Friday 15th at 2pm, it will be the turn of Thibault Chervy, whose work is entitled Strong coupling regime of cavity quantum electrodynamics and its consequences on molecules and materials

These works have been done under the supervision Prof. T.W. Ebbesen and in both cases, a small reception will follow the defense at the 6th floor of ISIS.

Mini symposium and PhD defense of Gabriel Schnoering

We are pleased to announce for next week a mini-symposium with two seminars on optical forces given by members of the PhD jury of Gabriel Schnoering:

Prof. Mikael KALL, from the Department of Physics, Chalmers University of Technology,Göteborg, Sweden, on Optically driven plasmonic nanorotors

and Prof. Romain QUIDANT from ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences, Barcelona, Spain, on Nano-optomechanics with an optically levitated nanoparticle

This mini-symposium will take place in the conference room of ISIS, on Wednesday 21th of September at 3pm.

Then the next day, on Thursday 22. at 9.30am, Gabriel will defend his PhD thesis entitled  On the Brownian dynamics of a particle in a bistable optical trap. This work has been done under the supervision of Dr. Cyriaque Genet and Prof. T.W. Ebbesen.  A small reception will then follow at the 6th floor of ISIS.
